Press Release

Nexedi Invests in Shanghai Free Trade Zone to Develop Mobile Technologies and Open Source ERP5 using JIO technology.

Shanghai (China), Marcq-en-Baroeul (France), November 4th 2013.– Nexedi, the creator of ERP5 open source ERP/CRM forms a new company in Shanghai "Waigaoqiao" Free Trade Zone. Through this investment, Nexedi will develop mobile enterprise technologies and accelerate the adoption of open source ERP5 in China.

"Mobile technologies develop nowadays in China faster than anywhere else in the world: 8 core phones today, 64 bit ARM pico-servers tomorrow and 5G networks planned for 2020 are the start of a disruption for enterprise computing. Xiaomi, Oppo, Rockchip, Rikomagic, Allwinner and hundreds of innovative companies based in China could be the leading brands of the future." says Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Nexedi.

Jingjing Xu, head of ERP5 education, adds: "Labour costs have become more expensive in China than in Eastern Europe and many other countries. However, traditional management in China remains less efficient, especially when compared to Germany or Japan. In order to retain their competitiveness, Chinese companies must transform their management by adopting ERP and CRM without losing their flexibility."

Thierry Brettnacher, VP Consulting of Nexedi, explains: "ERP5 is the best solution for the transformation of Chinese industry. ERP5 scalability was demonstrated through its adoption by banks and multinational companies in Germany, Japan and France. Open Source provides in additional a level of flexibility that remains unmatched by any traditional ERP."

Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Nexedi, concludes: "Back in 2007, Nexedi created the first open source ERP for Nokia phones [1]. Our goal is to invent in Waigaoqiao in 2014 the future of mobile enterprise applications based on ERP5 and on next generation mobile hardware."
