Create speedtest instance
Now create a new software release called "speedtest" that will be exactly like matomo but will serve the speedtest app from Librespeed: https://github.com/librespeed/speedtest. You should use the latest version available. The software release will be placed in a directory ~/srv/project/slapos/software/speedtest (that you need to create).
Request speedtest instance

Create your account on panel.rapid.space
Go to https://panel.rapid.space/ and create an account, wait to get an email and click the link in the email to enable your account. Then, wait until you get another email confirming your account has been created.
After this, login to your account (you need to use the username to login, not the email), and go to My Account -> Profile -> Enter Invitation Token.
Find the token corresponding to your initials and enter it to get access to the Telecom Lecture 2026 project:

Wait 5 minutes and you should see the Telecom Lecture 2026 project in the "Projects" section.
These tokens give you manager rights on the project, which will allow you to see and update all instances, but in order to create new instances you will need customer rights. To do this go to your project and click Invite Person -> Customer -> Invite Person, and enter this token in My Account -> Profile -> Enter invitation Token. Wait again 5 minutes and you should then see a "Add Instance Tree" button in the project panel view.

Make four groups
There are four ORS in each corner of the classroom: ORS20, ORS26, ORS70 and ORS152.
For the next parts, the classroom will need to be divided into four groups so that each group has one ORS.
Configure your ORS

Configure your ORS with the following parameters (only one person per group needs to do this):

- Bandwidth: 5 MHz

Prepare a SIM Card
In this section, you will prepare a SIM Card to connect your phone to your ORS.
Each SIM Card is identified by it's IMSI, which is composed of the PLMN number and the MSIN number.
Your PLMN depends on which ORS you have, and the MSIN should be 5 zeroes followed by the last 5 numbers written on your SIM Card.
For example if you have ORS26 and 0C013651, your PLMN will be 36301 and MSIN will be 0000013651.
Add your SIM Card to your Core Network
In order for the Core Network on your ORS to accept your SIM Card, you need to add it on the panel:
- Go to your project on the panel
- click "Add Instance Tree"
- Select "ORS https://lab.nexedi.com/nexedi/slapos/-/raw/1.0.470/software/simpleran/software-ors.cfg"
- Click Request
- Fill the parameters:
- Title: <ORS NUMBER>-<MSIN> (example: ORS26-0000013651)
- Software Type: Core Network Sim Card or Local DNS Entry
- SIM Algorithm: milenage
- PLMN: your PLMN
- MSIN: your MSIN
- OPC: 000102030405060708090A0B0C0D0E0F
- K: 00112233445566778899AABBCCDDEEFF
- Computer: your ORS
- Click Request
- The SIM Cards will take a few minutes to get added, during this you can flash your SIM Card

Flash your SIM Card
Take one SIM Card and flash it with the following command:
./write-sim-card --plmn PLMN --msin MSIN
For example if you have ORS26 and 0C013651 is written on your SIM Card, you should do:
./write-sim-card --plmn 36301 --msin 0000013651
Check on your Core Network that your SIM has been added
- Go to your SIM Card instance and check that the connection parameters have updated
- Go to your Core Network and check that your SIM is part of the SIM list
Connect your phone using your SIM
Before doing this step, make sure everyone in your group has finished registering their SIM Card to the Core Network since the Core Network restarts everytime a SIM is added.

Do a speedtest with your local speedtest
Request a speedtest instance on your ORS:
- Go to your project on the panel
- click "Add Instance Tree"
- Select "Speedtest https://lab.nexedi.com/nexedi/slapos/-/raw/speedtest/software/speedtest/software.cfg"
- Click Request
- Fill the parameters:
- Title: <ORS NUMBER>-speedtest-<YOUR NAME> (example: ors152-speedtest-bob)
- Computer: your ORS
- Click Request
Wait until connection parameters are updated. You will get two URL's you can use in the connection parameters:
- URL (ex: https://softinstXXX.host.vifib.net/ ): this goes through our CDN (Content Delivery Network), if you do a speedtest using this URL from your laptop you will measure the speed between: your laptop <--> our nearest servers from our CDN (Paris) <--> the ORS (ethernet connection, not 5G)
- Backend URL: you can use this URL from the phone to test the speed between the ORS and the phone, using the direct 4G connection, this is what you should use
Do a Handover Configuration

Please wait until everyone in the classroom has managed to connect their phone before you submit the handover configuration, otherwise if there are two ORS emitting on the same PLMN without proper handover configuration it will confuse the phone and cause issues
You can still start preparing the handover configuration on the panel and wait before clicking the "Submit" button.
In this part, all 4 ORS will be configured for handover. All ORS will use the Core Network from ORS152, and the PLMN used will be 00101.
Here are all the steps needed (please also read the Handover tutorial which will help you):
- Add the other 3 ORS to your neighbour cell list (go the other ORS eNB service pages and check the connection parameters to know what to put)
- Change your eNB to PLMN 00101
- Change your eNB GTP Address to "IPv4 LAN Address", and your MME Address to ORS152's core network (check the connection parameters of ors152-core-network service to know which address to put)
- If your ORS is not ORS152: stop your Core Network
- If your ORS is ORS152: add "IPv4 LAN Address" to the GTP Address List of the Core Network
Test the Handover
Only the SIM Cards configured for ORS152 will be able to connect since only ORS152 Core Network is used for the handover. You will also need to activate roaming on the phone since a different PLMN is used than the one on the SIM Cards.

Connect a phone in 5G SA (Standalone)
In order to set the ORS in 5G mode you will need to stop your orsXXX-enb service and start your orsXXX-gnb service, check out this tutorial to learn how to do this: https://handbook.rapid.space/ors/rapidspace-HowTo.Configure.Your.ORS.On.Panel
There are only two PLMN which are known to work in 5G SA with the Oukitel WP30: 00101 and 46011.
Therefore, choose one of these PLMN and configure it on your gNB and your Core Network, and then flash another SIM Card with this new PLMN and register it on your Core Network.

Warning: Having two ORS emit on the same PLMN on different Core Networks will confuse the phones, if more than two groups of students are at this step you can configure two groups of ORS in handover mode between each other
