Before proceeding further, let us have a look at a demo of SlapOS made by ViFiB.
ViFiB is the creator of SLAP and SlapGRID. ViFiB provides a beta reference implementation of SlapOS which is used to host Software as a Service (SaaS), host Virtual Machines and federate Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offers.
The first step in the demo consists of selecting an application. An application can be a complete business application (ex. ERP5, OS Commerce, Media Wiki, Drupal), a well defined network service (ex. memcached, cloudooo, MySQL, Apache) part of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), a virtual machine (ex. Kvm) or even an instance of an IaaS provider (ex. NiftyName, EC2, GoGrid, etc.).
