Knowledge Pad are categorized by type (Front Page, Web Section, Document, ...) and can only handle gadgets related to that type.
Default Knowledge Pad can be configured to propose a standard layout for anonymous users or authenticated users.
Authenticated users can surcharge the default configuration and define a global pad for each type (for all Web Sections for example). They are also allowed to define a local Knowledge Pad for a specific context.
